Q: What is your success rate?

A: Anywhere between 0% and 100%. That is because all clients, debtors and the nature of the debt are different. However, as we operate only on a commission basis, you can be assured we will do our very best to collect your money. Remember, if you don’t get paid, we don’t get paid.

Q: How good are you?

A: We have been in business since 1995 and have only ever charged a commission for our services, so we are clearly successful at collecting debts. Whether we will be able to collect your debt will depend on a number of factors, many of which are beyond our control. But remember, if we cannot collect your debt, we cannot charge you.

Q: How much will it cost me?

A: If we successfully collect your debt we will charge a fixed commission on the amount we recover. If court action is required you will need to advance the court fees at each stage of the proceedings and also pay a Court Bond in case we need to provide support and assistance during the court process in disputed cases.

Q: Can I recover my costs from the debtor?

A: If you are in business and you are owed money by another business we can add our costs under late payment legislation. Similarly, if the debt is subject to a contract or agreement with a legal cost clause we can also add our charges. Otherwise, you will have to stand the costs of our commission charges, as you would if you use a solicitor or other collection service. But remember you will only be paying a commission if we have recovered your debt.

Q: Will I need a solicitor if my claim is disputed?

A: In order to avoid the costs associated with court proceedings, we implement the Court Pre Action Protocol 2017 and try to resolve any dispute before legal action is contemplated. In the event that a claim is disputed we are able to offer support and assistance during the legal process. If your debt is under £10,000 the small claims procedure will deal with your claim and no representation is usually required. Above this amount you can still proceed as a litigant in person with our continued support, with the option of engaging a solicitor to assist at the trial stage.

Q: Do you collect any debt?

A: Provided your debt has occured as a result of providing legal goods or services we recover all category of debts except private tenant rent arrears (unless you have a guarantor) and where a consumer credit agreement is in place.
